Hydraulic mechanical continuously variable transmission (HMCVT) is a system combining and hydraulic power flow. The matching design of the source contribute to energy-saving emission reduction vehicles, meet requirements modern society for environmental protection energy-saving. This paper takes pickup truck as research object ratio control strategy self-designed new HMCVT with goal minimizing fuel consumption. compares it standard stepped automatic (SAT). vehicle model was based on CarSim MATLAB/Simulink. simulation carried out under EPA cycle, NEDC, six-mode cycle. consumption SAT that were compared. results show average savings are 4.52% in 7.01% 4.84% cycle compared eight-speed SAT.
